Khadi and Village industries cooperative society is located 4 kms away from Aluva Transport Bus Stand.Khadi industries co-operative society is located in a beautiful village called "Keezhmad". In order to protect the interest of clay pottery manufacturing workers,this society is fored.The well know social worker late Sri.M.K.Makar pillai took the initiative to support the workers by forming a co-operative society.

The co-operative society was formed having 25 members under the guidance of chief promoter of the society Mr.M.K.Makar Pillai.He started this society with a capital of Rs 500.

In 1943 Shri.K Ramakrishna Pillai took over the initiative of running the society.He brought in various workers (including non-pottery making workers) from different places,and thus he expanded the business.

The society was under the control of Kerala Khadi Village Industry Board and they were provided financial support for starting a manufacturing unit of potsherd.This unit had 40 workers,25 workers were there in clay pottery manufacturing unit. The unit manufacturing various items like Terracotta Potteris,Garden pots,Orchid pots,Bonsai Pots,Flower Wise,Other Type Pottery Items.
